Back for another year, the FCR Sportive Blackpool has proven to be a firm favourite! Starting and finishing on Blackpool's Middle Walkway, with a choice of two distances, both offer a challenging experience, in beautiful surroundings around Lancashire. The longer route offers 38% of assent whilst the shorter route, designed for the less experienced and younger rider offers 32% of assent.

The entry fee for the event is £25 for the 60 Miler, £20 for the 30 Miler.

Rider Safety |
• Non-competitive event. It is not a race and should not be treated as such
• ALL riders must obey the Highway Code at all times • Single file riding on narrow roads • Follow the marked route. Marked with white arrows on a red background • Respect other road users including horse riders on the route • Use the emergency number if you get into difficulty or need to withdraw • Check the weather before leaving home and dress/pack accordingly • Do not litter the countryside. Take your rubbish home with you |
Checkpoints & Feed Stations |
• 60 Mile route Checkpoints are at 22 miles and 40 miles
• 30 Mile route Checkpoint is at 15.5 miles • Each checkpoint is manned, has first aid facilities and a toilet • Water, soft drinks, biscuits, crisps, cakes are available • There is also bike tools and some basic spares available if needed |
Support Vehicle |
• A support vehicle will be roaming the routes, which carries basic spares
• The vehicle can be summoned via the emergency number if needed • Riders are not permitted to have their own 'personal' support vehicle • A vehicle will also bring up the rear collecting signs and facilities |
Cycles |
Participants are responsible for their own bike and equipment. The bike must be fully roadworthy and propelled solely through a chain set, by the legs without any other assistance. If the event is to be held in poor or little light, then front and rear lights must be used and must have adequate battery life for the duration of the event.
Typically sportive riders will use a road bike when participating in an event, however some participants may prefer to ride a hybrid, mountain bike, cyclo-cross bike or tandem etc, which are all fine for the event. The use of the below are not permitted:

Helmets |
The wearing of hard shell helmets conforming to CE standards EN1078 is mandatory for all riders participating in the event.

Click here for parent/guardian consent form if rider is under 18 on the day of the event. This form needs to be brought with the rider at check-in.
